May 2023-Current: GIS Technician

City of Newport OR 

• Used cartographic techniques to create physical and digital maps, as well online web maps and applications from a wide variety of data types and sources, for use both internally to the organization and externally

• Built, and maintained relationships such as data sharing agreements, and coordinated both internally with different city departments and externally with various contractors and organizations, both public and private

• Managed all aspects of the city's GIS both locally and through ArcGIS Online, including data collection, storage, maintenance, validation, and sharing, as well as adding and managing users and their access to data and editing privileges

• Used scripting languages such as Python, Arcade, and SQL to make queries and perform analysis and operations, as well as automating tasks.

• Acquired and used new GPS/GNSS equipment as well as already acquired equipment to collect and validate geospatial data in the field

June 2022-August 2022: GIS Engineering Intern

City of Pocatello

• Used scripts such as Python to automate GIS processes and implement GIS procedures

• Processed bulk data to distill and present requested information

• Worked with other departments to create maps following standard cartographic principles

• Used various GIS products such as ArcGIS Online, ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, and Survey123 to produce requested products

Idaho State University

• Helped process various forms of geospatial data for visualization and analysis

• Created, documented, and reported workflows for all processes used during the internship

• Prepared and manipulated topographical data for 3D printing

• Edited, prepared, and processed images to create time-lapses

• Performed both coordinated and independent research to co-author a paper for possible publication

• Taught basic computer skills and use of Esri software to students which allowed them to compile and analyzed data into maps through personal and group instruction

• Helped students find and analyze geo-spatial data which enabled completion of assignments and projects

• Improved problem-solving through troubleshooting software and hardware problems which arose during class or other periods of instruction

• Assisted Professor with maintaining and changing online courses and grading assignments which allowed a better learning experience for students and eased professor’s workload
